Getting Started

As a new intern, we want to ensure you have everything you need to get started smoothly. This guide will help you set up your workspace, access company resources, and understand the initial steps to integrate into our team.

Setting Up Your Workspace

Hardware and Software

  • Personal Device: We expect you to bring your own preferred device. Ensure it is configured and ready for work.
  • Software Requirements: Your device should have the necessary resources to install and run the following software:
    • Git: Version control system.
    • Docker: Containerization platform.
    • Flutter: UI toolkit for building natively compiled applications.
    • Visual Studio Code (VSCode): Code editor.
    • Node.js: JavaScript runtime environment.
  • Make sure to install these tools or verify that your device can support them.

Operating System

  • Recommended OS: We recommend using a MacBook or a Linux-based system for optimal performance and compatibility.
  • Windows Users: If you have a Windows device, we strongly recommend installing the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) to provide a Linux-like environment for development tasks.

Network Access

  • Wi-Fi: Connect to the office Wi-Fi network using the provided credentials.

By ensuring your personal device is properly set up and configured with the necessary software, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running and make the most of your internship at 1888 Studio. If you encounter any issues or need assistance with the setup, please reach out to our IT support team.
